I was born in Uruguay and migrated to Australia with my family in 1971 at the age of six. Growing up bilingual gave me not only fluency in both Spanish and English, but also a deep appreciation for the role language plays in connecting people, cultures and communities. For many years, I was the unofficial interpreter and translator for family and friends. As an adult, I realised that my language skills could be used to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, which led me to pursue a professional career in translation and interpreting. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Interpreting and Translation at the University of Western Sydney (now Western Sydney University), graduating in 1995. During my studies, I had the privilege of learning from Professor Sandra Hale, a highly respected interpreter, academic and internationally recognised researcher in the field of interpreting. Receiving my early professional training from one of Australia's leading experts provided a strong foundation for what has become a rewarding lifelong career. Following graduation, I obtained NAATI accreditation as a Spanish-English and English-Spanish translator and interpreter. I have maintained my professional credentials throughout my career and am currently a NAATI Certified Translator in both language directions. I am also a member of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT) and adhere to the AUSIT Code of Ethics. While I have held interpreting credentials throughout my professional life, I now focus exclusively on translation services. My career began with Associated Translators and Linguists in Sydney, one of Australia's largest and most established language service providers, where I worked as an in-house Spanish translator and interpreter. Later, while raising my family, I continued working in the language services industry alongside a variety of administrative and accounting roles. This experience broadened my understanding of business, finance and professional communication, knowledge that continues to benefit my clients today. Since 2010, I have operated my own translation business from the beautiful Gold Coast, providing accurate, reliable and professional Spanish-English and English-Spanish translation services to clients throughout Australia and overseas. I assist individuals, businesses and organisations with documents for migration, legal, academic, business and personal purposes. More than 30 years after beginning my career, I still take great pride in helping people navigate important life, work and legal matters through clear, professional translation services.
